The feel-good factor from simple daily contact with nature can last for months, once initiated, according to a new review from The Wildlife Trusts. The review is based on surveys completed by people taking part in 30 Days Wild – the UK’s biggest nature challenge which is run by The Wildlife Trusts and inspires daily acts of nature engagement every day during June.

As entire countries and cities have closed down, one historic landmark is opening its doors, at least virtually, to give visitors the opportunity to follow the story of Sir William Wallace, patriot, martyr, and Guardian of Scotland.

The National Wallace Monument in Stirling has not only created a programme of new educational videos tracing the story of William Wallace and The Battle of Stirling Bridge, it has also released a virtual tour of the Monument.

Unusually tranquil scenes are taking place across the grounds of Arundel Castle in West Sussex as thousands of alliums burst into bloom for the Allium Extravaganza.

While the Castle remains closed, over 35,000 alliums, with spherical heads in hues of purple, blue and white, are set to flower throughout May and early June. Over 26 named varieties are on display.
